A Blog Hop With A Difference!

A couple of weeks ago I was asked by the amazingly talented
if I would like to participate in
'a special type of blog hop'

after thinking about it for a day of so I decided to play!

If you click
you will be taken to
Janice's blog, which is so full of creative inspiration
(you will be thanking me for sharing!)

Janice has such a beautiful style of scrapping, I love her use of chipboard
and her white space always rocks!!!
Janice is currently on some amazing design teams

2Crafty
Scrap It With Attitude
CSI (Color, Stories, Inspiration)

Unfortunately all of the Creative People I asked to participate have
already been asked to play along or are very busy (school holidays here in Australia).

Getting to know a little about me....

Q1. What am I working on right now?
At present I am working on my layout for the Mid-month reveal
Here is the Mood Board

I am also working on some Guest Designer layouts for
{creators of beautiful handmade flower's}
Here is my first creation as July Guest Designer.

Q2. How long does it take you to create a layout?
Well, honestly it can take a couple of days! I will often have to walk away to
see to family stuff. My fastest layout to date has been 2-2.5 hours!
This is the layout (below)

I had actually watched a tutorial and was so inspired.....I was so pleased
 with it, too!

On the other hand I have spent nearly 5-6 hours creating tags
like these....

Q3. What are your favourite things to create with?
At the moment I am enjoying the whole mixed media thing....texture paste, water colours
I also enjoy creating texture by using embossing folders with texture paste
(checkout my You tube video at the top of my blog!)
You can create fantastic texture

Q4. How does your creative process work?
Well, for me this differs, sometimes I like to have my photo picked first but then other
times I might have an idea of a technique I really want to try.......so
I can do it either way.
Having 8 children has taught me that you need to be flexible.
And I get bored if I go about things routinely all the time!

Q5. How do I become inspired and stay inspired?
My inspiration is like many others, my family!
Recording, capturing our special and everyday moments. Plus as I say to my kids
no one remembers moments like a mother does!
My newest inspiration is my Grandson, Flynn

I also find a lot of inspiration online.....Pinterest & Facebook are my main places
to go for inspiration.
I find scrappers from Poland very inspirational at the moment!
There are just so many talented scrapbookers out there it is amazing!!!

Q6. What is your signature style?
Hmmm? Signature style.... I tend to use earthy and pastel tones, you will often find
machine stitching on my work. I love layers and as I said earlier I like mixed media...
I am not sure if I actually have a set style?

Here are a few of my favourite creations
(oh! and I have a bit of a circle fetish)

I thank Janice so much in asking me to participate in this
Hop with a Difference
I'm just sorry I couldn't find anyone willing to join in
:(

A fantastic post Kim, loved reading about your creative side. It's a shame you couldn't find anyone to participate but I'm sure you're not the only one. I think this Hop has been going for a while now and it must be getting hard to find people who haven't already done it. Your pages are gorgeous!! I really love your work but, with 8 kids, I just don't know how you find the time. Wonder woman extraordinaire!! This was a great read!! ox
