Just Because....inspired by one Julie

So the other weekend I was scrappin' with my bud and she had the latest Scrapbook Creations mag....loved it!!!

Looking through it I found an article by Julie Winks on  salted backgrounds and glimmermist and felt a little inspired to give it a go.....I had tried this technique about a year ago and wasn't too sure if  I liked it....anywho i thought I would give it another chance, but maybe add some stamping or something?????

This is the end result......I've used a photo of my #3 son, Mason

[Complexity]

[Mason is 15 atm]

Gorgeous Scrapmatts gears which I've added texture paste to then painted with precious metal colour, let dry then dripped glimmermist (Patina blue) on and let dry. Some Tim Holtz tape...behind the gears!

One of my favourite stamps is Checkerboard from Darkroom Door.....so versatile.

Planning a very Scrappy weekend this weekend and looking forward to it!!!
Hope you have some scrappy plans too?

Cheers

Challenge Inc---Recipe

Morning....beautiful sunny day here today, chilly but SUNNY.

So it was my turn to post a challenge over at
 Challenge Incorporated
It's a recipe challenge...so make sure you pop on over and make a list of the ingredients!

The winner of this challenge shall recieve some wonderful products from 'Stampin Up'....donated by the generous Kerri Smith.

Now to show you my layout...and a few close-ups....

                                                                      [Endless]

I've used some of the great Key Holes from Scrapmatts, which I have applied texture paste. I've also used some gorgeous ribbon and twine and alpha stickers from Craftqueen. Glimmermist and machine stitching a must and I also cut some cute hearts out of an old corrigated box I had laying around and inked the edges.

The photo's I printed onto some canvas paper just for something different...they aren't super clear and I did plan to re-print them but then I thought .... it's different just go with it!!

So hope you can join us and remember to have some fun!!!

Thought I would share this pic of my little Miss Sidney, (photo taken by her big sister, Samantha). Samantha has been working hard on her Year 12 art BOW.
