Weeks are flying and so are the cases @ CSI

Evening everyone.....
                              aren't the weeks flying by, bit scary actually.

 I didn't get a chance to blog about case#89 over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration
but I shall show you it after I show you the latest Challenge Case#90.
 I (as always), enjoyed this challenge. Love how the cases get you thinking outside your usual BOX!
My Special Investigator layout for CSI......

 {Quietly Kenzie}
Scheme- All colours
Evidence-Heart, bird, tie something- black tiny twine looped and tied through flowers, something transparent and no longer trendy-transparent Heidi Swapp flowers.
Testimony- Written around stitched edge.
I love your gentle and quiet nature, McKenzie. You are a true thinker which is also wonderful. I hope you don't change too much as you grow up. These qualities are awesome. You are a little different than your other brother's and I love that!!! You have a beautiful soul as well. Always know that you are all that I have written. Love you forever, my boy xxx

 The mask, flowers, black tiny twine, alpha's and stamps are from Craft Queen
I have also used a gorgeous Scrapmatts heart inked with black ink. The other bits (eyelets, metal hooks and big brad), I just have in my stash. I've also used gesso, watercolors and machine stitching.

 Here is Case #90

 Hope you can play along this week!!!!

Now I will show you my Case# 89
 Scheme- all colours (my orange is a little brighter ).
Evidence- Book page, polka dots.
Testimony- Place brackets around your journaling.
Journaling reads- It was so lovely to meet you, Stacey!!! It's a big thing meeting your loves family for the first time xxx

You still have time to enter this challenge if your quick!!!

Emma Stafrace has also done a sketch for added inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by and hope your having a good weekend

September Scrapmatts :)

Hello

Popping in to add a post about my September Scrapmatts Design Team Share.

 So the DT prompt was 'Something New' (inspired by all the newness about us here in Australia as it is Springtime).
hmmmm! Well my new love is watercolor paints so I went with that!!!
Here is a layout I created and I also used some of my fav colours Blue, White and Green :)
 I found this photo of Hugo the other day while searching for another photo.....I put it in a safe place as I knew I needed it scrapped!!!
 { My Happy Boy}
I've used the Scrapmatts word 'Happy' (SW007 Happy 01) & some of the pieces from the Ornate Frames 17 (CB4060)
 I've coated the pieces in white gesso. I love using watercolors at the moment as they are so versatile, the softness of colour is so pretty. I even used it to colour my flowers more to my liking!
Blue, green and white are such great SPRING colours
 I found the big blue beads, sequins and small beads amongst some old jewelery making stuff and really liked them...
 I've also used flowers from Craft Queen and also
 2 masks from Craft Queen  ( the check one is Prima and the spotty one is from Kaisercraft.

He's such a cutie......
 Our other task was to create a set of Christmas Tags.
 For these I've used Tag 1-I've used the chipboard Tags (CB3009 Tags 05), Leaf Spray 02 (CB5082)and Ribbon Banners 01 (CB1204).
Tag 2- I've used an Ornate Frame (CB6002), Ribbon Banners 01 (CB1204) and the Alphabet Flags 01 (CB6084).
I gessoed both tags, then added water colour. With the Noel tag I gessoed the frame then cut the Ornate frame (CB6002) in half and layered the pieces together. With the Noel (CB6084) alphabet flags I stuck them on top of one of the Ribbon Banners (CB1204) to give a great layered effect.
 With the second tag I gessoed some Leaf Spray pieces (CB5082), then added some glossy accents.
The ribbons and silver trim on these two tags are from Craft Queen (except for the lace under the Reindeer) That is from a table runner from Pillow talk on a clearance rack.
Always keep your peepers peeled for a bargain!!!

Thanks for stopping
Have a great week!!
:)

WooHoo!!! Special Investigator for CSI

As my post title tells you ...
I am very excited to be a 'Special Investigator' over at
                                              CSI
This weeks case #88 needs to be solved and looks like

This is how I solved it

 {2 Creative Souls}

I really enjoyed working with these colours and since my eldest son, Alex is in it, I felt it worked well. (Not too girlie!!)
Evidence-clock, book pages, flower pattern on the die cut leaves.
Testimony- Written on a tag on the back of layout. Young and in love, you both have a creative side and are both looking forward to welcoming your own special creation into the world early next year. I can't wait to watch you learn & grow and become the wonderful parents I know you will be.
Love forever Mum x
 I have used a new favourite die from SPELLBINDERS, a gorgeous window shutter from Scrapmatts and loads of lovely goodies from Craft Queen (which include the Prima button, wooden butterfly, the Prima stamp, under and above the photo and also the Collections cut out clock).
Also my usual machine stitching, some coffee marks and tangle of threads.
So..... if you need a mojo boost head on over to CSI.
Be sure to checkout all the DT creations as they are simply amazing!!!!

Cheers and Thanks for stopping

CSI #86 and First Ever Tutorial :)

Hi all,

Just a quick post today to show you a creation for CSI. This is a very inspirational site, I really enjoy it.
My #86
{Gift From Above}
Scheme- all colours
Evidence-art mediums, stripes, tie something.
Testimony- Handwritten Journaling.
Tag on back of layout reads- 1994 really had it's lows and highs. On January 23rd we welcomed into our lives a beautiful baby girl, Samantha Molly Ewins but at the same time my Mum was given only months to live due to Cancer. Samantha is wearing a special little dress hand picked by my Mother in this photo. The lord giveth and the lord taketh away. One of the toughest years of my life.

I've used Spellbinder Die, CW template, Prima mask, flowers, papercord, from Craft Queen. Lots of machine stitching, Collections butterfly brushed with Glimmer Glam.....cut up doily and then stretched it out straight.
Below is the criteria I used. I loved the softness of the colours.

Now one more thing I wanted to share is my FIRST EVER TUTORIAL
I was pleased with the results and I thank Helen from
for the offer of the first tutorial on her wonderful challenge site.
Take a look..........................

Thanks for Stopping
Let me know you did

September Scrap The Boys

Evening All....

So, the September Scrap the Boys challenge is quite simple
Outdoors Activity
(Think camping, fishing, sports, playgrounds..just as examples to get your MOJO flowing)

Easy peesy....and very do-able....
{Fishing}
I decided to do this layout of Rhys, fishing in Hiroshima, Japan.
I have used a Darkroom Door stamp, Prima stamp, Spellbinder die and some cogs from Scrapmatts,
which i have just inked,
a mass of threads that had collected in my cotton container and....
some metal jewellery making links, the clock cut-out is from Collections and I have also splashed a little glimmermist around.
Studio Calico alpha stickers....
My Rhys is now home here with us....he returned home last Friday after spending almost a year studying in Hiroshima University.
So good to have him home safe and sound.

So you have until 30th September to upload your entry

Good-luck All

Cheers Kim
